PROJECT STAGES

Stage 1: Induction

INDUCTION

Free consultation to discuss the manufacturing process and project options.

Initial Meeting

We start by learning about your brand, product goals, target audience, and regulatory requirements. This ensures that we are fully aligned with your vision when developing a product to reflect your brand’s identity and marketing position.

Budgeting & Feasibility

One of the most critical points to define at the outset is a project budget range. This way we can ensure expectations are able to be met when discussing the available packaging and formulation options with the specific product type, size, and order quantities in mind.

Project Definition

Packaging: The type, size, minimum order quantity, lead times, and pricing for all packaging components are defined and samples are obtained for approval.

Order Quantity: We calculate the labor costs based on the order quantity. Higher order volumes will result in a lower labor cost per unit.

Formulation: The specific ingredient requirements are outlined to ensure regulatory alignment. Packaging should be finalized before the formulation to ensure compatibility and budgeting accuracy.

R&D Payment

An R&D payment per formulation is collected to cover labor, materials, and shipping for prototypes. This fee is credited towards your initial production order and ranges from $500 to $1,000 based on complexity.

Stage 2: R&D

R&D

The R&D lab fee is required for each formulation to begin work on the project. Fee will be applied to initial MOQ order.

Formulation

One of our R&D Chemists will take the Formulation Request Form submitted and begin development of the formulation while taking into consideration all the requirements provided.

Prototype Samples

Initial formulation prototype samples are produced typically within 2-4 weeks of receiving the R&D Payment and Formulation Request Form depending on material availability / sourcing needs. Additional rounds of samples for adjustments are typically processed within 1-2 weeks. Most projects require between 1-3 rounds of samples.

Sample Approval

Once the formulation has met all feel, smell, application, and performance targets a conditional sample approval is provided at which time an ingredient list is generated for final review and approval.

Pricing

Once the formulation has been approved and packaging has been defined/quoted we will have all our costs at which time we can provide a quote for the final product. This quote will be good for 30 days and will remain in place so long as the material costs remain constant.

Stage 3: Registration

REGISTRATION

Some countries will require registration of products before manufacturing begins

Artwork

A printing die line for the packaging will be provided for the client to generate artwork on and return for review. Artwork for products sold in the USA must adhere to FDA labeling guidelines.

Artwork Approval

Once artwork is submitted to the printer, the printer will provide a digital .pdf proof that will need to be signed off on and approved by the client. Physical proofs can be requested from the printer, but they cost an additional fee that will be passed on and billed for.

Registration

We can assist with any documentation required for the registration of products along with any additional testing needed. All 3rd party tests for custom formulations will be billed to the client, i.e. Stability & Shelf Life Testing, Preservative Efficacy Testing (PET), Toxicological Risk Assessment (TRA), Microbiological Testing, etc.

50% Order Deposit

We require a 50% deposit with the Purchase Order to start the production process.

Stage 4: Manufacturing

MANUFACTURING

The production process begins with a minimum order quantity that is based on the product type and size.

Procurement

Raw materials and packaging are procured for the order.

Manufacturing

Once all materials are in-house, the order is scheduled, picked, batched, filled, QC tested, and prepared for shipment.

Final Payment

Once the order is ready, a final invoice will be generated, and the final payment will be required to release the shipment.

Product Release

A packing list will be made available along with the weights and dimensions of the shipment for the client to schedule a pickup.
